This week in Jesus: God's a Republican...and He's NOT happy with the results of the election

As a general rule, we tend not to write about the things said by those who call into the right-wing programs we monitor, as many of them tend to be isolated crackpots and the hosts themselves cannot really be held responsible for the things that callers say. But we occasionally make exceptions for cases like this, where a caller tells AFA’s Buster Wilson that he owns an AR-15 assault rifle, loathes President Obama and is absolutely fed up, warning that the government is turning him into a vigilante and that “when the bullets start flying, well, I got plenty of bullets.”….Wilson’s response to this caller was truly remarkable, as he declared that “those were the kind of sentiments” that were expressed by the Founding Fathers leading up to the Revolutionary War, saying that Americans “are not now willing to revert back to anarchy [and] to have our liberties stripped away from us” before blaming school shootings like Sandy Hook on lack of prayer and the Ten Commandments in our schools

Wilson: Guns Are Not the Problem; Lack Of School Prayer is the Problem: I barely know where to begin with stupidity so monstrous and thoroughly unhinged. If Buster Wilson is a Christian, then I’m a North Korean double agent. The only worthy response to Wilson’s mean-spirited silliness would be restraints and Thorazine.

Tony Perkins Attacks DAR Moves Toward Religious Inclusion: With the War on Christmans © having once again proven a huge disappointment to the Radical Relgious Right, Tony Perkins has turned his attention to the latest threat to his intoleranct, judgmental Christianity. That’s right, he’s going after that disturbingly radical organization, the Daughters of the American Revolution.

As America Mourned a Shooting Tragedy, Cynical Christian Right Leaders Tried to Cash in by Blaming Atheism: There are too many on the Rabid Religious Right who view Sandy Hook as a fundraising opportunity first and foremost. These people are as much Christians as Jeffrey Dahmer was a vegetarian.

God’s Obituary: A Humanist Response to Mass Murder: A kind, benevolent God wouldn’t allow His children to be massacred in such a senseless manner. So what does that say about the question of God’s existence?
