If you're looking for the obligatory 9.11 post...well, sorry to disappoint you

As has been true for the past couple years, there will be no 9.11-themed musings here. I’ve done my time in that place, and while I haven’t forgotten, I’ve long since stopped living in the past. At some point, I have to focus on the present and what’s ahead of me instead of what tragedies may have come and gone.

There will be plenty of others whose focus will be on the significance of that horrible day 13 years ago. I don’t believe that I have anything new, unique, or even particularly insightful to add…and so I’ll leave that to others willing to indulge.

I’m not immune to the significance of the day. I do plan to take a moment to stop and think about the friend I lost on 9.11 (as I quite often do), but it’ll be with a smile. There have been more than enough tears over the past 13 years, and I’ve no desire to revisit that place.

Enjoy your day in whatever way you deem appropriate. May it be a peaceful one.
