Today on "Great Moments in Christian Hate"

THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD

(apologies to Keith Olbermann)

Anthony Culler

Same-sex “marriage” is a pestilence that has descended on our society, against our will, by those in the courts and government that do not value the traditional family. These people, like my opponent SC-6 Congressman Jim Clyburn who OPENLY supports same-sex “marriage,” seek to destroy the traditional family and the values we cherish. This has been allowed to happen because the groups and individuals pushing this evil are louder, bolder, more organized and determined than the individuals and groups that believe in tradition families.

With history inexorably on the march, those arguing against gay rights and same-sex marriage have become ever more shrill as their desperation mounts. With each day seemingly bringing news of another state where marriage equality has become the law, some holier-than-thou Bible thumpers are losing their mind. There are those who refuse to grasp the reality that some humanoids choose not to live their lives stuffed into a one-size fits all bad. Some people refuse to accept an Old Testament, angry Imaginary Friend who’s fairly itching to smite them…and just want to live and love as they see fit.

The poisonous, bastardized version of Christianity practiced by those who choose hate over love and fear over understanding and acceptance isn’t Christianity at all. It’s a form of collective brainwashing used to keep the malleable and suggestible under control and turn a minority class into second-class citizens.

Anthony Culler is just another desperate, angry, hate-driven Social Conservative angry that his prejudice is inexorably being roundly rejected. In one of the most hateful, self-righteous Facebooks posts I’ve run across, Culler manages to display an impressive degree of intolerance and self-delusion…EXACTLY the sort of person we should want in Congress, protecting us from the evil, icky Homosexual Agenda.

Do not condone same-sex “marriage” or their self-destructive (they also have a strong tendency for substance abuse), alternate lifestyle. Do not attend the “over the top” and “anything goes” ceremonies or parties that these people revel in. Look away from this scourge on society and condemn it. Starve it out and actively stand against this movement and those pushing it. Seek the dismissal of all those in the judiciary and legislature that support and seek to legalize same-sex “marriage.”….

We have the numbers. We need the determination. If you cannot be actively involved then be one of the silent majority that does not aid same-sex “marriage” or it’s advocates in ANY form. Stand against this and we will reverse it and drive it back into the darkness.

This is where liars and bigots like Culler go off the rails. The fact is they DON’T have the numbers. Poll after poll has shown that a majority of Americans are increasingly accepting of same-sex marriage. Most Americans simply don’t believe that government should be in the business of determining what love is acceptable or not. Haters like Culler, though they’re loathe to admit it, are in the minority. Despite their willingness to wrongly claim the imprimatur of the Almighty while venting their rage and bile, history (and public opinion) isn’t on their side.

Authoritarians like Culler are all and only about political power, about controlling the lives of others and forcing their beliefs and moral standards on them. Like so many Social Conservatives, the only “freedom” Culler cares about is the freedom to impose his moral standards on all Americans. As a Republican, he could learn from the words of the late Sen. Barry Goldwater:

I’m frankly sick and tired of the political preachers across this country telling me as a citizen that if I want to be a moral person, I must believe in “A,” “B,” “C” and “D.” Just who do they think they are? And from where do they presume to claim the right to dictate their moral beliefs to me?

Indeed. Culler is free to his opinions and moral standards. This is still a free country, and that means all are free to their beliefs…NOT just hate-addled Social Conservatives. I can only hope the voters in South Carolina will send him back to the rock he crawled out from under.
