This week, like most, has featured a plethora of walking, talking advertisements for being good without God…because if these maroons are what Christianity has to offer, we’re well and truly gefickt. Instead of Christianity being about love, tolerance, and inclusion- the sorts of thing Jesus Christ preached (or would have, had he actually existed)- we see a decidedly angry, judgmental, and supremely self-righteous and intolerant flavor of the majority religion on display. I had NO idea God was such an intolerant, mean-sprited S.O.B.
I realized that most- perhaps even the vast majority of- Christians aren’t anything like the freak shows featured below. Still, there are millions who listen to and follow these false prophets and, even worse, send them money to continue their “ministry.” That’s if hatred, homophobia, and smug, arrogant self-righteousness can even be considered a ministry.
If these maroons are Christians, then allow me to profess my eternal gratitude for having the wherewithal to not believe in God…because these idjits espouse a theology I don’t even recognize- but please, by all means feel free to send them money. Lots and lots of money. Because maintaining such virulent hatred, homophobia, and self-superiority doesn’t come cheap, knowhutimean??
And those Gulfstreams and vacation homes in the Hamptons aren’t going to buy themselves….
