My friend Bernhard is a senior executive with Microsoft, which means he’s fortunate enough to be blessed with a ridiculous supply of disposable cash. As you might imagine, some of his hobbies are on the expensive side. He has three drones, one of which he used to film my wedding, and are fascinating in their own right. What truly fascinates me, though, is his Tesla Model S, which for all I know could indeed be an “Intergalactic SpaceBoat of Light and Wonder.” When I ran across Matthew Inman’s graphic description of what it’s like to own a Tesla, it pretty much summed up my sense of wonder.
It helps that The Oatmeal is one of my favorite sites, because Inman has a gift for using humor to explain a variety of esoteric topics in a way that makes it possible for even history majors like myself to understand. Hopefully, Inman won’t mind me using his drawings to illustrate my fascination with a vehicle that seems about as sufficiently indistinguishable from magic as any automobile I’ve ever seen.
And there’s more. Nikola Tesla ROCKED…and Elon Musk ROCKS. Any questions? I didn’t think so.
