Hey, Democrats! How about we all grow up and keep our eyes on the prize??

So…how silly is this, right? Even as we face the prospect of the GOP candidate being a village idiot/demagogue or a hyper-Christian zealot who could suck the joy out of a screaming orgasm, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are battling one another in a fight to the death?

“IF BERNIE DOESN’T WIN THE NOMINATION, I’M NOT VOTING FOR HILLARY!!”

“BERNIE’S UNELECTABLE? HOW CAN YOU VOTE FOR SOMEONE WHO DOES NOTHING BUT PROMISES FREE STUFF??”

Yeah, it’s silly, it’s stupid…and it’s dangerous. Are you hyper-partisan True Believers really willing to run the risk of Donald Trump or Ted Cruz being the next President? Are you really so thoroughly, inflexibly fixated on the unquestioned moral superiority of your candidate that you’d lose sight of the bigger picture? Even Bernie Sanders has said that Hillary Clinton is an infinitely superior candidate to any Republican, and I suspect Sec. Clinton would say the same about Sen. Sanders. There’s something far more important in play here than merely which Democrat is The One, True, and ONLY Progressive standard-bearer.

I’ve long since endorsed Sen. Sanders, and I believe him to be a far superior candidate to Sec. Clinton. I hope that in the end he’ll prevail…but you can bet that whoever is the eventual Democratic nominee will be getting my vote. They should be able to count on yours as well. There’s FAR too much at stake for pouting and whining to determine who takes the Oath of Office on January 20th, 2017.

We all need to grow up, settle down, and recognize what’s at stake for this country. Fight and argue for your preferred candidate now- but when the dust settles, we need to come together to ensure that we don’t wake up and realize the nightmare we just had will last four long years.
