Donald J. Trump’s approval among women may be at an all-time low, but some of his female supporters are showing their support by stripping off their clothes in support of the candidate. As The New York Post reported on Sunday, the Twitter account “Babes For Trump” has been collecting the photographs of women who have been showing their support for Trump by showing off some skin. The account’s profile features a photo of a woman wearing a “Team Trump” wet T-shirt, and the motto, “Making America Great Again One Babe At A Time.” The account notes that photos are also posted to other social media accounts like SnapChat and Instagram. While many of the women are wearing some clothing, others wear nothing more than the name “Trump” painted on their naked bodies.
No reasonable observer could claim ignorance of Donald Trump’s history of misogyny and denigration of women. That there are women who eagerly support him would seem to defy rational understanding. The willingness to vote for someone so inimical to the interests of the distaff half might reasonably be taken as indicative of considerable self-loathing…or proof of a truly difficult to fathom degree of cluelessness.
Turns out that not only are there a significant number of women who aren’t bothered by Trump’s disrespect for and objectification of their gender, they’re eager to portray themselves as sexual objects in order to demonstrate their commitment.
I can’t imagine I’m the only one who finds this meme to be more than just a wee bit creepy….

Of course, the great thing about feminism is that it stands for the right of women to act as they see fit. This means that, just like men, they can prove themselves to be truly clueless about what a Donald Trump presidency would mean.
If you believe that displaying your “assets” in support of a candidate with a long and proven history of misogyny and disrespect for women, then good on you, I suppose. You’re exercising your 1st Amendment rights; free speech and expression doesn’t necessarily mean intelligent and well-considered speech and expression.
If you’re a “Babe for Trump,” then congratulations; you’re indulging your constitutionally-guaranteed freedom to support a candidate with a long, amply-documented history of deep-seated disdain and disrespect for women. That’s your right, but if you’re going to participate in your own objectification and sexualization, you can’t complain when your candidate treats you as if your worth barely extends outside the bedroom.
