23% of Texans lack coverage, census finds
I hope I'm not the only one who finds it unconscionable that, in a country such as ours, blessed with such wealth and privilege, fully one-quarter of the population does not have health insurance. If we have the wherewithal and resources to invade Iraq and turn it into a parking lot, wouldn't you think that we can solve THIS problem?? Of course, bombing Iraq IS much sexier and easier to sell to hard-line Conservatives....
