Check for a pulse before you pronounce us dead

The Last Days of the Democrats

After the 1998 mid-term elections, those with an interest in the subject were ready to give Last Rites to the Republican Party. For years later, the Democrats are in the same position. The moral of the story? Well, like the weather, if you wait, things will change. Sure, Democrats have their work cut out for them, but Republicans found their way out of the wilderness, and their is no reason to think that Democrats won't do the same. How soon is anyone's guess, but I'd be careful before you go shovelling dirt on anyone.

Now that the 2004 election cycle has begun, let the fun commence....

(Update: thanks to Chuck Kuffner for catching the booboo in my original post. I suppose this is what I deserve for writing before sunrise. Rest assured, Gentle Readers, that the appropriate changes have been made, and I've fired my entire fact-checking staff. Damned slackers....)
