ACLU report: U.S. heading toward Big Brother society

This should come as a shock to no one who has been paying attention, but the American Civil Liberties Union has issued a report that states that a "total surveillance society" has become a realistic possibility in the US. The sad fact is that, regardless of your opinion of the ACLU, the premise of the report is true. The federal government has used 9.11 and the threat of further terrorist attacks to gradually erode and diminish our civil rights. Anyone who has tried to board an airplane lately has seen the process at work.

It's all about "security", which would be fine if it weren't so laughable. Little by little, brick by brick, piece by piece, the freedoms we have known are going the way of the buffalo. Perhaps the terrorists really have won....
