Bush’s ‘victory strategy’ does not sell
White House Seeks a Strategy for Victory, Both at Home and in Iraq
Most Americans doubt Bush has victory plan
White House: war critics ‘irresponsible”
In another triumph for those who graduated from college with degrees in marketing, it appears that, yes, you may have hope for a career in politics after all. Our Glorious Leader has just demonstrated the utility of repackaging tired rhetoric and presenting it as new, different, and designed to cure all that ails us. Perhaps no policy initiative has been the recipient of so many repackaging and remarketing efforts at the war in Iraq. Frankly, it’s become a marketing major’s wet dream. We’ve gone from
- “Iraq has WMDs”, to
- “Mission Accomplished”, to
- “Saddam is a very bad man”, to
- “Better to fight terrorism in Baghdad than the streets of New York”, to
- “Protecting America’s Freedom and Security”, to
- “The National Strategy for Victory in Iraq”
Meanwhile, the lives of a continuing parade of young Americans are sacrificed to IEDs and enemies they can neither see, feel, nor engage. If someone wants to tell me what they continued sacrifice of American lives is designed to accomplished, I’m willing to listen, but if you’re going to use any of the above arguments, save your breath. Or do I really need to go through the pointless formality of refuting every one of those arguments?
Yesterday, a 20-year-old Marine from Splendora was killed by one of the largest IEDs yet seen in Iraq- a booby-trap hooked up to what was most likely 4 155mm artillery shells. Ten young American lives were obliterated in an instant…and I cannot help but wonder for what purpose they died.
It’s like deja vu all over again, eh??
Still glad you voted for Bush? Nice job….
