Bush Administration Knew About Liquid Explosive Threat, Yet Bush Still Calls It “New”

This plot is further evidence that the terrorists we face are sophisticated, and constantly changing their tactics… We’re dealing with a new enemy that uses new means of attack and new methods to communicate.

While every 12-year-old on da Interweb knows about the explosive potential of Mentos and Diet Coke, Our Glorious and Benevolent has apparently just now discovered the terrorists can combine two chemicals and make things go BOOM! This is a man who has access to the best intelligence available ANYWHERE, and he’s acting as if this is a new concept? Can he really be that stupid (he said, asking a question he already fully knew the answer to)?

Jeebus, there is nothing new about this “new” threat. In fact, it’s been no secret to BushCo for some time now, and anyone who knows anything at all about terrorism realizes this threat has been in the pipeline for years. It’s just that Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader is hyping it as a “new” threat so he can milk it for maximum propaganda value by scaring the American sheeple into voting Republican.

If nothing else, Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader has demonstrated once again that his Administration is more reactionary than proactive when it comes to dealing with terrorist threats. And passing off this threat as “new” is yet more propaganda.

The most frightening thing about the foiled plot to use liquid explosives to blow up airplanes over the Atlantic is that both the government and the aviation industry have been aware of the liquid bomb threat for years but have done little to prepare for it.
