Once a DUMB@$$...always James Dobson

James Dobson: ‘Fred Thompson Worships Satan’

Need an Introduction to Fred Thompson?

Dobson Offers Insight on 2008 Republican Hopefuls: Focus on Family Founder Snubs Thompson, Praises Gingrich

Dobson prefers a “real Christian” like sociopathic monster Newt Gingrich, who is probably the vilest person to ever serve in Congress ‚Äö√Ñ√Æ and that’s saying a lot. Gingrich is such a repulsive amoral scumbag that when he heard Elizabeth Edwards and Tony Snow had cancer again, he immediately served them both with divorce papers.

Man, it must be nice to be so secure in the knowledge that you and only those like you have the key to eternal salvation. This smug sense of entitlement and superiority is something frequently found in Christian Republicans, especially those who call themselves Evangelical. Yes, it’s gotta be great knowing and believing with all your black little heart that you are one of the Chosen Ones, blessed by God and doing 160KPH in the left lane on the Autobahn to Heaven.

And isn’t it interesting that a holier-than-thou-will-EVER-be Evangelical Christian like James Dobson is leaning towards supporting Newt Gingrich, he of the two marriages and at least one admitted extramarital affair. Not only that, Gingrich served his first wife, who was being treated for cancer, with divorce papers in her hospital bed. Now there’s one fine, upstanding, God-fearing (&^%$#@ hypocrite Christian, eh??

If this doesn’t demonstrate that Dobson is far more about political power and kingmaking than upholding and honoring his alleged Christian beliefs…well, then I don’t know what will. If Newt Gingrich is a good, God-fearing Christian who lives his beliefs, then I’m the Queen of England.

Focus on the Family founder James Dobson appeared to throw cold water on a possible presidential bid by former Sen. Fred Thompson while praising former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who is also weighing a presidential run, in a phone interview Tuesday.

“Everyone knows he’s conservative and has come out strongly for the things that the pro-family movement stands for,” Dobson said of Thompson. “[But] I don’t think he’s a Christian; at least that’s my impression,” Dobson added, saying that such an impression would make it difficult for Thompson to connect with the Republican Party’s conservative Christian base and win the GOP nomination.

OK, so Thompson has a trophy wife. And he’s an actor…which obviously means that he’s possessed by the Devil. Except for that whole Ronald Reagan thing. Hmm…perhaps pigeonholing candidates based on manufactured impressions isn’t quite the exact science that Dobson thought it was.

Mark Corallo, a spokesman for Thompson, took issue with Dobson’s characterization of the former Tennessee senator. “Thompson is indeed a Christian,” he said. “He was baptized into the Church of Christ.”

In a follow-up phone conversation, Focus on the Family spokesman Gary Schneeberger stood by Dobson’s claim. He said that, while Dobson didn’t believe Thompson to be a member of a non-Christian faith, Dobson nevertheless “has never known Thompson to be a committed Christian‚Äö√Ñ√Æsomeone who talks openly about his faith.”

“We use that word‚Äö√Ñ√ÆChristian‚Äö√Ñ√Æto refer to people who are evangelical Christians,” Schneeberger added. “Dr. Dobson wasn’t expressing a personal opinion about his reaction to a Thompson candidacy; he was trying to ‘read the tea leaves’ about such a possibility.”

Ah…I see; so only “Evangelical” Christians are Christians. Interesting, isn’t it, how Schneeberger just managed to expose exactly what’s so wrong about Evangelicals? That they could simply dismiss an entire category of those who happen to believe in Jesus Christ and consider themselves “Christian” in every sense of the world only betrays the arrogance and smug sense of superiority harbored by Evangelicals like Dobson.

Nyaa, nyaa, nyaa…we’re better Christians then you are!!

Not only that, but Dobson has also said that many Evangelicals would find it difficult to support Mitt Romney because of his Mormon faith. There are many reasons not to support Romney- his two-faced opportunism (and “magic uderwear” chief among them- but this smacks of statements from 40+ years ago hat people wouldn’t vote for John F. Kennedy because he was Catholic.

It would appear that bigotry and self-serving arrogance is alive and well…and calling itself an Evangelical Christian. And you wonder why I have such a problem with modern Christianity…??
