I did not have sex with that woman...I might have done another one, though....

Another day…another Republican sex scandal. Yawn…been there, done that, changed the sheets. Except in this case, we’re talking about 206-year-old Sen. John McCain (R-AZ). Hey, if the male hydraulics are still working at his age, more power to him, no?

The New York Times has published a story this morning alleging that McCain had a steamy, torrid affair with a female lobbyist, which involved entire weekends filled with athletic and very public sex and large amounts of Viagra, if true, would certainly cast doubt on McCain’s image of integrity.

In true Republican fashion, McCain has chosen to attack the Times for daring to publish such scurrilous and unsubstantiated charges. How DARE they attack such a paragon of integrity- an American hero who spent five years as a prisoner of war? Don’t they know that McCain is a man of integrity? Don’t they know that McCain is 206 and almost on his death bed? Where is their decency and respect for a true American hero? Then again, what could one reasonably expect from a bleeding-heart, Communist rag staffed with America-hating Liberals?

Everyone involved seems to be losing sight of the fact that the Times spent several months investigating this story. This isn’t the New York Post we’re talking about here. I do believe that the Times has some fairly rigorous standards in place so that they don’t go about blithely slandering a candidate. Rather than attacking the messenger, we might want to take a look at what the Times discovered during the course of their investigation. I don’t care if McCain buggers goats in his off-hours, but if he’s going to play the integrity card, he’s best be certain there are no skeletons (or affairs, hookers, bribes, or drug use) hanging in his closet.

The lobbyist in question swears that she received no special treatment from McCain…though she did receive a pair of designer kneepads from him this past Christmas.
