Today's sign that the Apocalypse is upon us

As if to prove that the stunning fall of a public figure can be a virtually endless source of entertainment, Sirius Radio is launching Client 9 Radio. As the title implies, it’s going to be all Eliot Spitzer and all high-end call girls all the time.

So much for taking pity on Spitzer and not tap-dancing on the plot in which his political career is buried, eh? Pity and kindness are dishes apparently not served much anymore, particularly when it comes to Eliot Spitzer, who didn’t exactly go out of his way to win friends and influence enemies.

Thankfully, I won’t be able to tune in to Client 9 Radio…like I would anyway. I’m an XM subscriber, and while I was never a huge Eliot Spitzer fan, I really have no desire to listen to various media types publicly pouring salt into Spitzer’s wounds- self-inflicted though they may be.

Come on, people. The man has already been publicly embarrassed and humiliated. He may not be a first-class human being or someone you’d put on your Christmas card list, but is this sort of public gloating really necessary?? When is enough just a wee bit too much? When do we stop have fun at someone else’s expense?

From my perspective, we’ve been there and back. Give it a rest, willya??
