Hillary, get your gun...and don't forget you cheap political opportunism while you're at it

Ahh, being poor, with no job (or just as bad, two jobs), no health insurance, an exploding mortgage, gas prices of $4 a gallon, two wars with no end, a massive budget deficit to hand down to the kids, and an overall bleak future - now THAT is the life. Just ask Hillary. Hillary connects with these happy people because she’s had a hard life too, what with the sniper fire and all. And her chauffeur, her gardener and her cook are all simple people and she does talk with them, sometimes. And after all, she can shoot a gun just like John Kerry, or perhaps Mitt Romney. All regular people too, just like Hillary.

So now HRC is a gun lover? (Cue the Vince Lombardi clip, willya?)  Man, they hypocrisy and the complete, unfiltered BS emanating from the Clinton would cover the whole of Bangladesh to a depth of about five feet, don’tchathink? Don’t get me wrong; I don’t think Barack Obama’s remark disparaging Pennsylvanian’s love of guns was the smartest thing he could have said. But now, Hillary Clinon is coming out as a previously-closeted NRA member. Gimme a (&^%$#@ break. Jeebus Krispix, man; if HRC is a gun lover, then Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © deserves a third term- term limits be damned.

Sometimes I wonder if HRC has ANY idea what any embarrassment she’s become? Does she have any inkling that her naked political opportunism and her classless “I’ll do and/or say WHATEVER it takes to win” persona has made her the laughing stock of the Democratic Party? Well, clearly not, because she’s still running, and she’s still in denial. Now is the time when Democrats should be consolidating their resources and focusing on John McCain’s ignorance, hypocrisy, pandering and “I’ll do and/or say WHATEVER it takes to win” duplicity.

It’s time for Sen. Clinton to pack up here traveling road show and cede spotlight. No matter how long she tries to prolong the agony (on the pretext that every votes deserves to count), the math is stacked against her. Sure, she could still win the nomination (if the Earth cleaves open and swallows Sen. Obama whole), just like (theoretically) the Washington Capitols could win the Stanley Cup. There comes a time, though, when owning up to inevitable reality is simply the right and smart thing to do. NOW is that time.

In the meantime, Sen. Clintion, here’s a message for you. Please have the decency to do the right thing for once.
