If Satan were a pundit, he'd be Tony Snow

THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD

(apologies to Keith Olbermann)

Tony Snow

Tony Snow has begun his new gig at CNN, and ancient declaimer of non-sequiturs Larry King's heart is so a-flutter that you'd think CNN had just hired a lissome blond, 50 years his junior. Snow brings to the table many years of work over at CNN rival Fox News, who he still says he loves. He has even recently said that he would "walk over broken glass" for Bill O'Reilly -- which sounds impressive until you realize that walking barefoot over broken glass is far more pleasant than listening to him.

While Larry King may be creaming his shorts over the news that Tony Snow is now in the employ of CNN, those of us on the other side of the ideological divide can really only draw one conclusion: that neither CNN nor any other network have ANY interest in providing anything even slightly redolent of fairness and balance when it comes to opinions.

It doesn't take a Ph.D. or X-ray vision for anyone with half a brain to recognize that Keith Olbermann is the only Liberal in a meaningful position when it comes to the network or cable television news punditocracy. (And yes, I'm deliberately omitting Alan Colmes, who is to Sean Hannity what knee pads were to Monica Lewinsky.) Frankly, there's no longer even a feigned attempt being made to provide anything close a fair representation of differing viewpoints. CNN is can now be mentioned in the same breath as every other television news provider, whose range of available commentary runs from right-of-center to slash-and-burn, let-God-sort-'em-out, knuckle-dragging, kill-'em-and-grill-'em, knuckle-dragging troglodytes like Michael Savage and Bill O'Reilly. Fair an balaced, my @$$....

Ah, but I digress.... This rant really is about Tony Snow, that smug, cocksure intellectual thug who could convince Conservatives and the easily propagandized that a manure sandwich really is haute cuisine. (Tastes great!! Less filling!!) If you're a Conservative, you proably think Snow walks on water. The fact that Snow is currently battling cancer almost humanizes him. Almost. While he deserves to be supported in his battle against cancer, some like myself would consider it a blessing if he was cured- except for his tongue and his vocal cords.

Now that he's being paid by CNN to provide "political analysis", what we'll no doubt see this election season is more Right-wing propaganda wrapped in a pretty rhetorical package and presented as a fair and impartial view of the 2008 campaign. It would be nice to think that televised news and political analysis wasn't synonymous with such willful, transparent, and shameless political indoctrination of the American Sheeple.

No matter how much lipstick you put on this pig....
