hy,

im want to buy your iphone, i have 230$ , if you are agree with my offer please reply to me ,with your phone number to call you

thx

Not three weeks ago, I steadfastly held forth about how I wasn't going to fall prey to the hype surrounding the new iPhone 3G. For the record, my resolve lasted all of 19 days. At least I meant well, I suppose, but I finally gave into to the temptation yesterday. I guess only time will tell if I made the right call, but hey, it's only money, right??

What set me to thinking about upgrading was a conversation I had a few days ago with a coworker. He mentioned that a friend of his had sold his iPhone 2G for $300 on Craigslist. Being the buddling capitalist I am, I did the math and quickly realized that I only paid $200 for my iPhone 2G new. So, what the heck, I thought; why not try and make a few bucks?

So I put an ad on Craiglist (it's free, after all), and within minutes I had several offers. Some of those offers were clearly from interested parties whose English was, to be charitable, something less than optimal. OK, some of the emails were downright incoherent, the technological equivalent of "Me love you long time...." Perhaps this might explain why each of the emails came with this response:

One respondent told me that he would send money to my PayPal account...and all I had to do was to ship the iPhone to him via International Express Mail. Uh, right...I may have been born at night...but it sure as Hell wasn't last night.

This has certainly been entertaining, but whether or not I'll actually be able to sell my iPhone 2G is still an open question. I really do think, though, that it won't be long before I get an email promising me $400 AND a bigger penis.

SOLD!!!
