Four games into the NFL season...and I still haven't been able to get used to seeing Brett Favre in purple and gold. With the Vikings being 4-0, though, I'm not about to complain. I grew up watching Minnesota lose four Super Bowls...and now I find myself daring to hope that maybe, just maybe.... Vikings fans long ago learn not to get their hopes up (see Gary Anderson, 1999 NFC Championship Game, 15-1 season, or Roger Staubach to Drew Pearson, 1975 NFC Divisional Playoff Game), so we're all looking at this season with a sense of "Yeah, but...what's going to knock the wheels off THIS time?"
Last night's game was fun to watch. Even if you're a fan of the evil, Blood-sucking Packers, you have to admit that it was a fun game to sit through...though you no doubt didn't like the results. Don't worry; Minnesotans don't gloat...if only because we know all too well what it feels like to be on the other end. I may no longer live in Minnesota, but like my ex-wife once told me, "You can take the boy out of Minnesota, but you can't take Minnesota out of the boy." Too true....
Even better will be the rematch on November 1st in Green Bay. Man, I can hardly wait. Game on, eh?
