This is what happens when you buy a newspaper and turn it into a propaganda delivery system

Um. Santa Barbara News-Press endorses Orly Taitz over Feinstein. Please pick up your pet waste w/ one today and drop it on their doorstep.

Some folks buy newspapers because they love the idea of being able to hold those in power accountable. Some love the idea of being the source people in the community look to for impartial coverage of events; there’s that whole “journalistic impartiality” thing, after all.

Wendy P. McCaw evidently bought the Santa Barbara News-Press so she could turn it into a mouthpiece for her ultra-Conservative, Tea-Party-before-there-even-WAS-a-Tea-Party views. How else could you explain the News-Press endorsing screaming, irrational birther Orly Taitz over incumbernt Sen. Barbara Feinstein?

I might have linked to the editorial that justified the rationale for endorsing someone who’s borderline insane, but you have to pay for a subscription to get to it. Under no conceivable circumstance am I putting money in McCaw’s pocket. Suffice it to say that, while most news outlets at least try to cloak their editorial biases in the garb of impartial journalism, Ms. McCaw makes no pretense that the News-Press is a propaganda delivery system.

Frankly, I wouldn’t wrap my fish in the Santa Barbara News-Press. Picking up pet waste? That might actually be an appropriate use for it.
